WHAT IS ION PLASMA NITRIDING?

Ion nitriding, or plasma nitriding, is currently one of the most technologically advanced methods for case hardening of steel components. Effective case depths of up to 0.020-inch are formed in order to provide increased wear, fatigue and corrosion resistance properties. Ion nitriding can be conducted at temperatures lower than those used in conventional heat treat process thereby providing excellent dimensional control and near distortion free results.
