Atmosphere Heat Treating of Precision Gages
Mid-South Metallurgical developed an atmosphere heat treating process for precision gages which minimizes, and in some cases eliminates distortion and part movement during the final grinding process. Typically, this process is appropriate for plug, thread, and ring gages. To achieve the desired results we combine atmospheric hardening with a secondary sub-zero stabilization process.
We can accommodate gauges ranging from 1 to 24 in diameter and our temperature range is between 1,500 and 1,700 degrees Fahrenheit (F). We work with several gage materials, including 0-1, 0-6, and 8620, and offer secondary processes, such as straightening and stabilization. Our processes meet ISO 9001:2008 standards and we feature a 3 day delivery time. To learn more about precision gage heat treating, please contact us.
