GAS NITRIDING

Sometimes even steel needs a little extra strength.

ABOUT GAS NITRIDING

Low temperatures. High resistance. A coat of nitrogen armor. Gas nitriding is a thermochemical case-hardening process used to increase wear resistance and surface hardness by diffusing nitrogen into the surface of a ferrous alloy such as steel. This makes it makes is possible to develop a very hard case at relatively low temperature that does not require quenching or tempering, resulting in minimal distortion of parts being treated.
